The new All Weather Track for the Wairarapa is well on its way to reality, with substantial funding coming from the District Councils, and various Trusts and Foundations that have interests in the Wairarapa.
The Masterton District Council has stipulated that they will not release their generous $300,000 grant until $50,000 has been raised in the community, and that construction cannot commence until all the funding has been secured.
It is the aim of the Trust to build the track this coming summer, commencing in late January, and completing in April 2011. If we cannot raise the $50,000 by December, we will have to delay construction until the following summer.
Please have a look through the following pages, to get an understanding of the hard work that has got us to this point. On the last page, there are some suggestions of how you might help achieve the dream.
Our mission is to have a community facility available to as many users as possible in the whole Wairarapa region without high user fees. We envisage users to include people with disabilities, school students of all ages and abilities and users from many other sports codes who require cross training, or land-based training.
Please note that when making your donation, there is a small fee* charged by Paypal to process your transaction. Once this is charged, the remainder of your donation is transferred to the Wairarapa Regional All Weather Track Project without further fees or charges.
* The fees charged by Paypal are $0.45 per transaction and a commission of between 2.5% and 3.4%
